Dream Theater - Live at Ruth Eckard Hall, Clearwater, Florida Dreamsonic 2023
I held my phone at chest-height, since I didn't want to watch the show with my phone in front of my face, so there isn't a good view of the band. I just wanted to enjoy the moment, so I wasn't too concerned about recording the video. I hope you guys at least enjoy the audio!
This was my first time seeing the band after moving to Florida from Illinois. I have to say that James' voice sounds better in-person than in this phone recording, or other phone recordings on UA-cam. I thought the show was fantastic overall, so I didn't really care about a couple off-sounding moments. It was a blast to also see Animals as Leaders and Devin Towsend play long sets, they were amazing! I'd certainly recommend catching this tour if it stops near you!

Rush - La Villa Strangiato, live at the Pinkpop Festival, Netherlands 1979

RIP Neil Peart. Here is Pro-shot TV broadcast footage showing most of Rush's performance of La Villa Strangiato, recorded at the Pinkpop Festival on June 4th, 1979. The festival took place at Burgemeester Damen Sportpark, in the city of Geleen. Alex apparently got the injured finger, shown at the beginning of the video, by smashing it in between his bed and the mattress while having fun with hi...

Dream Theater - Rage Interview 1993

This is a very hard-to-find interview that Dream Theater did with an Australian-based TV show called Rage. I don't know exactly when or what venue this was recorded at. I unfortunately only have this interview in the form of a poor-quality mpg file, so this is unfortunately the best I can get this video to sound and look. It's still definitely worth watching though, as the interviewer asks the ...

The quality isn't very good, but because of how historic this recording is, it's definitely worth listening to. James totally nails the second verse! It's interesting how James says that this is the first show of the Waking Up the World tour, since he also said that at the September 9th, 1994 Foundations Forum show in California (A show best known as "The Rudess Experiment"). However, that was ...

This show was at Castello Scaligero, located in Villafranca di Verona, Italy. This was Mike Mangini's second show with the band. This show was 12/01/94. Fates Warning opened up for Dream Theater that night. If you look closely, you can see James is wearing a Fates Warning shirt from their "Inside Out" tour / album. I saw Fates 2 days later in Santa Barbara on the 3rd. Portnoy was there to support Fates so, got to hang out with him before and after the show. Both Fates & DT played at the Palace in Los Angeles 6 days later on 12/09/94. Mike remembered us, came and said hi along with Derek! It was a super cool week to take off from work as a 20 something year old! You don't get the time back, go enjoy it! Jay-

To me, Falling Into Infinity is their best album. It sounds incredible production wise and Derek Sherinian gave them a different sound that made it stood out from their previous albums. Too bad he left the band so soon.

16:30 Wonderful sound... the JP Sound... there's little to be done... the real John Petrucci was that of the ibanez era, after that his songwriting and approach to the instrument also totally changed. The musicman is totally different and brought him to a different approach...and I say this as a guitarist

My best friend Mark Richards and myself were fans of this band and saw them at this very concert in 1982. They opened for Judas Priest. Maiden released The Number of the Beast earlier in March and Priest had released Screaming for Vengeance. We were fans of both bands. His father drove us to the Garden in the family station wagon. We were only 15 years old and not old enough to drive. Mr. Richards was a character. He bought a case of Moosehead beer for us for the ride. We actually finished it. We had seats in the balcony. The seats were on top of each other and very elevated in this part of the Garden. Mark and I played together in a band and Mark had a beautiful black fender precision bass much like Mr. Harris’s. Maiden came on stage and Steve Harris began with those incredible bass notes on the song Wrathchikd. His beautiful blue Fender Precision reflected light all the way to us. Mark proceeded to throw up all over a girl and her boyfriend who were seated in front and almost directly below us. I immediately apologized for Mark and offered to go and get paper towels for them. They acted like it did not happen and kept listening to the music in a trance with puke all over them. They were obviously high on something. Mark proceeded to pass out for the entire duration of Iron Maiden’s performance. The show was incredible. I went and got wet paper towels for the young couple. Then the loud roar of a Harley Davidson was heard. Rob Halford came roaring onto stage riding his Harley and Mark immediately came to just long enough to desperately beg me to take him outside the immediate stadium for some fresh air. I took him to the restroom and washed him clean of his puke. The couple he threw up on were outside in the hallway. I apologized for Mark again and they acted like it was normal and a part of the show. This is what it was like as a teenager listening to heavy metal. I would have been upset personally myself. We saw the same two bands the next year at the Garden. They were co-headliners this time. Halford and the entire Judas Priest band came roaring out on Harley Davidson motorcycles. The show was incredible. Maiden had just released the excellent and thought provoking Peace of Mind album. Maiden ran out onto the stage and proceeded to play old hits and almost the entire new album. Then it got absolutely quiet and the entire band disappeared. Bruce came out alone and the spotlight was put on him as he sat at the very end of the stage with a book in his lap. He spoke of joining the band and the new release. Bruce Dickinson was very interesting on stage. He stopped talking and showed a thick book he was reading to the audience. It was a book I had read called Dune by Frank Herbert. I do not remember which Dune book it was. Probably the first one. I had read four of the books in the Dune saga. Bruce began a long and very interesting discourse about the book and how it related to a song from the Peace of Mind album. This was To Tame a Land. He asked the crowd if they read books. The crowd literally started booing as they were not of the intellectual level of Mr Dickinson at all and were not interested in hearing about a book. I may have been one of a few people who were actually interested. I would much rather hear an interesting discussion about how a book related to the themes and plots in an albums songs than watch grown men ride out on stage on Harley’s dressed in S&M attire. The rest of the members of Irin Maiden came back on stage and To Tame a Land was performed. Anyways, both bands were excellent. Mark actually stayed conscious for the entire show. My adolescence unfortunately ended prematurely and much to fast very soon after this. I miss friends I grew up with such as Mark whose parents treated me like their own son. Nothing can take the place of these memories. They have a special place in my heart and soul. This is in memory to my best friend Mark Richards and his beautiful parents, Toby and Joyce Richards.
